"RUUME arhitekti" – about the project
The main concept of the project is to create an eye-catching “landmark” in the urban environment of Mārupe – an idea combining the urban planning character with an internal courtyard fit for recreation. It is both a public and urban environment and a quiet green area typical of the suburbs.
The project consists of four-storey buildings arranged in line and forming a street front with their connecting parts in a well-defined and active streetscape. It functions as a frame for three green courtyards in the southern part of the territory, completely devoted to peaceful recreation and void of any parking spaces.

The design of the building relies on the staples of Scandinavian architecture and "fresh" combination of colours, including both calm and light tones and bright accents. Nuances of hues and details are complemented by the ground-floor boards painted in the same colour while a solution of toned-down natural wood is used for the connecting part.
The hedges, planted along the perimeter of the building, clearly define the private open space of the ground-floor apartments. The one-storey connecting part facing the street spatially creates a sense of a more private courtyard, which is not so exposed to cars. Encircling the whole territory, there is a path for evening walks, jogging and access to the waterfront.
The layouts of apartments are efficient incorporating spacious living spaces and small corridors. The living rooms are designed in the corners of the building with the glazing provided from several sides, thus creating a high-quality effect spatially. The ground-floor apartments with front gardens and terraces at the ground level create an atmosphere characteristic of a private house.
